Description

Painted in Adobe Photoshop 6.0

Due to the wide resolution, a full view is necessary for any and all details.

This was an experimentation with painting various types of land. I wanted to get a rocky effect in some parts, a soft powder effect in others, and a hard, chiseled effect anywhere else... ;)

Overall, I'm happy with how it turned out. I wanted it to symbolize this person's discontent with the world around him, the people, the things. Hence, his tattered clothing and his trudging through the snow. He is desperately searching, looking toward the future, for an answer, a place where he can live happily and at peace.

Very good. But don't use neutral grays in color work! I can't believe I have to tell that to someone of your skill! :)

Nice work! I like how interesting the landscape is :)
It might be nice to see some more atmosphere to really give the piece a sense of depth. I agree about the neutral gray [of the base]...

nice work !!

somehow the mountain of the background fadeswith the sky, that's a bit odd.
but it's an impressive pic, really.

Very nice, great textures! I expect that mountain in the background would be slightly blue-er due to atmospheric perspective though.

What, you can't see the neutral grays? In patches on the mountain slope, in the structure... they stand out, and they mess the atmosphere effect up.

Read this.

yup, as far as i know, i'm going back to tone them down, or change the hue, or add a slight reflection, etc.. i'll do it within the next two weeks. ;)

Well done, especially the snowy mountains. The winterlight is captured in a very natural way.

the mountains in the background look much better than the ones in the foreground, I think you lack some detail on the foreground. Hmm, I agree about the neutral grays, they need to have a blue hue or something like that, maybe some clouds would be nice too? I definately love the snow mountains, I was never good at displaying those, good job!
